Dear friends of the vision,
What a great day at the State House in Providence, RI. We met friends from National Day of Prayer, Family Council, a missionary, an evangelist, pastors, and church members.
It all started last Saturday August 6, when Vicki and I returned to our RV campsite with no church to attend on Sunday. We had searched five different locations, trying to locate a church that wanted to pray.
Saturday evening I began walking the RV Park, praying in desperation for the Holy Spirit to lead us to a praying church. You would think that would not be too hard since all churches should be a House of Prayer. I returned to the RV and printed out three more church addresses located outside of Providence. Sunday morning, Vicki asked where we would go to church. I shared with her the three churches I had located. We started early Sunday morning determined to find a praying church. I sensed something good about the church in Pawtucket, a suburb of Providence. We arrived at 9:00 am, and there were cars already in the parking lot. That's a good sign! The church had gone to a summer schedule and would start morning worship at 9:30. I was introduced to the Pastor who stopped what he was doing and invited me to join his leaders for prayer before the service. As we went into the sanctuary, there were many banners posted but one particular one stood out. "My house shall be called a house of prayer!" Yes, they not only talked about it, they practiced what they preached. What a refreshing time we had through the week praying at this spiritual watering hole! We attended prayer meetings, church services, and had our own private time of prayer. We were in desperate need of this time of rejuvenation.

Today became a time of spiritual awakening and deep intercession for the state of Rhode Island. Several groups and individuals have been going to their Capitol and praying with great fervor for their city and state. When people prepare the way with intercession, our job is so much easier. We literally basked ourselves in this spiritual atmosphere that has already been prepared.
The history of this state is one of independence and entrepreneur spirit. At the top of the state house dome is the Independent Man clutching a spear in one hand and resting the other on the stock of an anchor. This expression of the spirit of independence has ruled God out in many ways. Abortions are very high in this state and other forms of sinful lifestyles and wicked conduct have been freely exhibited.
We have been amazed at the strong prayer times we have had in the New England States. Where sin abounds, grace does much more abound! However, great prayer effort has been put forth ahead of time. The NDP state director has prayer walked the State House alone many times. She is now joining other groups which have developed in recent months. This type of effort is beginning to pay off in many states. We cannot let up but must press on even harder than ever if America is to be saved!
Our mission will be complete after four more state prayer times and Washington D.C. finale! Prayerfully consider joining us in Washington D.C. starting at 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm, September 11, on the west lawn. Go to our web site, prayeracrossamerica.org, and our D.C. web page for more information.
Bless you for caring! : Pastor Phil and Vicki Epperson
