Madison, WI.
Dear friends of the vision,
What a beautiful sunny day at the capitol building in Madison, WI. We could not have asked for a better day in many ways. We are so thankful to the Lord for gracing us with His blessing.
This day was also one of the best attend in many months. One person advised us that over 70 people were present. Even though numbers are not the issue, it does encourage our hearts and lifts our spirit while we pray. The audible responses to the various prayers and songs were so encouraging.
When we went to Madison, we were limited on contacts. I had only two churches listed and contact with Family Research Institute. What we didn't know was how the Holy Spirit would lead us to one of the most spiritually attuned churches in the City.
On Saturday we try to find a church where we can worship, as well as a place of prayer for Vicki and me during the week. As we drove to the address that I had entered into mapquest, we came to Evangel Life Center. When we arrived at the church, unlike so many, there were cars everywhere in the parking lot. A wonderful story short, the first man I met was a support staff employee for an Assembly member of the State of Wisconsin. His contacts were enormous and his kindness was outstanding and reflective of the great church we would attend. The second person I met was the Senior Pastor, who's enthusiastic voice I had heard on the church phone message center earlier. I knew we had found our church!
They invited us to the Saturday night prayer meeting and to the morning services. What a refreshing time in prayer and worship. I was reminded of the three year revival at our last pastorate, where people would go to the front of the church and sing, pray, weep, and yes, dance before the Lord as they worshipped the King of Kings!
With this great response, media had also took note of our effort at the 38th capital prayer meeting.
The shofar blowers blew the rams horn as we opened our prayer time and worshipped so profoundly with the weeping cry of the shofar just before the prayer of repentance. Wonderful friends of Chicagoland, other parts of Wisconsin, were present to help us pray, assist us with our equipment, and playing of taps on the trumpet, as we remembered our fallen soldiers. I wept again as the taps were played hidden from view in deep honor for our men and women who have served and are serving so faithfully for our freedom. Please keep the service men and women in your prayers, the war is not over!
The capitol building of Madison, Wisconsin, is one of the most stately, functional, and impressive capitols, that we have seen. The four wings extending out from the rotunda, is so massive and impressive. It is so well kept but used extensively for all branches of government including the supreme court.
On our way to Lansing, Michigan, we will stopped off to see the family, dedicate two grandbabies, enjoy Fathers Day with family, and sleep in our own bed after four months on the road in an RV and motels.
Follow us closely with prayer as we take on the last twelve states and Washington DC.
Bless you for caring!
Pastor Phil and Vicki Epperson
