Our Heavenly Father, we thank you for Your Son, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. But not everyone has accepted your free gift of eternal life, and many of us who have received you as our Savior have lived carelessly with our thoughts, actions, and deeds.

Daniel said of Israel : "We have sinned," He recognized he was part of this great nation that had rebelled against God. He prayed, "O LORD, we and our kings, princes, and ancestors are covered with shame because we have sinned against You.But the Lord our God, is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him. We have not obeyed the Lord our God, for we have not followed the laws He gave us through His servants the prophets."

You spoke through Jeremiah the prophet before Bablyn came and destroyed Israel. You said, "Their rebellion is great, and their sins are many. How can I pardon you? For even your children have turned from me. They have sworn by gods that are not gods at all! I fed my people until they were fully satisfied. But they thanked me by committing adultery and lining up at the city's houses of prostitutes. They are well-fed, lusty stallions, each neighing for another man's wife. Should I not punish them for this? Declares the Lord. Should I not avenge myself on such a nation as this? So many Americans have done or are doing much same shameful deeds as Israel, so you punsihed Israel. Will you not punish us?"

You warned Israel about their sin, and You have been warning us in America. You spoke through Jeremiah again and said : "This is what the Lord says : 'When people fall down, don't they get up again? When they start down the wrong road and discover their mistake, don't they turn back?' Then why do these people keep going along their self-destructive path, refusing to turn back, even though I have warned them? is anyone sorry for sin? Does anyone say, "What a terrible thing I have done?" No! All are running down the path of sin as swiftly as a hourse rushing into battle!"

We have not only sinned with our actions and deeds but with our tongues by not telling the truth. Again, You spoke through Jeremiah : "'My people bend their tongues like bows to shoot lies. They refuse to stand up for truth. And they only go from bad to worse! They care nothing fo Me.' says the Lord." Isaiah joins in this course of destructive deceit when you spoke through him by saying, "Destruction is certain for those who say that evil is good and good is evil; that dark is light and light is dark; that bitter is sweet and sweet is bitter."

As Paul the apostle so clearly stated : "Don's you know that those who do wrong will have no share in the Kingdom of God? Don't fool ourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, who are idol worshipers, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexuals, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, abusers, and swindlers. None of these will have a share in the Kingdom of God."

If You could have found ten righteous, You would have spared Sodom and Gomorra from destruction. But there were not enough righteous people who were vexed, pained, tormented, harassed, and oppressed by sins of homosexuality, immorality, and ungodliness. Are there enough righteous in Americal who would love the sinner and hate their sin, as You did, Jesus? You said that You did not come for those who think they are already good enough but to call sinners to turn from heir sins. So, forgive us of our self-righteousness, our apathy toward sin, and our departure from our first love of You, Jesus! We repent knowing that we don't love those who so desperately need You, as we should. We repent knowing that we are guilty of shedding innocent blood, and have failed to seek justice for those less fortunate. You said through Isaiah the prophet, "From now on, when you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen. For your hands are covered with the blood of your innocent victims. Wash yourselves and be clean! Let me no longer see your evil deeds. Give up your wicked ways. Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. defend the orphan. Fight for the rights of widows."

You gave Israel hope through the prophet Isaiah, and You want to give America hope and a future. You gave them hope when You said, "Come now, let us reason this out, says the LORD. No matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can remove it. I can make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you as white as wool. If you will only obey me and let me help you, then you will have plenty to eat. But if you keep turning away and refusing to listen, you will be destroyed by your enemies, I, the LORD, have spoken!"

We now repent for our nations sins. Please forgive us as a nation for not sustaining Godly laws that give life instead of destroying life, for not electing Gidly lawmakers, and for not nominating Godly judiciary leadership in both our sata and federal court systems. You said through King David, "Blessed is that nation whose God is the LORD." We have drifted so far from You as a nation under God. We have moved from under Your protection, and now we are vulnerable to the enemy. Please forgive us and restore our rightful place under Your headship, oh God! With Your forgiveness, reverence for You can be restored, and with that, the protection of Your ministering spirits. You spoke through David by saying : "The angel of the Lord guards all who fear (reverence) Him, and He rescues them."
With Your forgiveness, through Your Son Jesus, we can now have hope for peace, the joy of salvation, and most of all, live eternall with You!
